نگاهی به پدیده‌های زمین شناسی‌ قشم QESHM ISLAND


Qeshm Island, which has the shape of a dolphin, stands parallel to the s of Iran in Hormoz strait  in the azure waters of Persian Gulf.
There are smaller Island in the vicinity of Qeshm among which the most important ones are: Hormoz, Larak and Hengam. There are also other very small islands in its neighborhood such as Naz Island.
The average area of Qeshm Island (The region between low tide and high tide) is 1665 km2. The length of the island in near to 130km and its width at the most is 30km while its average width is 10km. the highest point in the island is 397m high –the peak of Namakdan Mount- in the southwest of the island.
The headland, 1.8m, is within the distance between old Laft and Pohl Port.
