Ovissi is an Iranian artist born in Teheran in 1934 where he continues to work and to reside. He graduated in Political Sciences, but ever since his early youth he showed great interest in paintings for which his source of inspiration lays in the Iranian traditional art, stories and folklores.
He has exhibited his works on several occasions in Italy among which his one man show exhibition in 1968 in Gallery 88 of Rom can be mentioned.
In Ovissis works expression and poetic story-telling has a mysterious quality that comes to life by self style and a definite discipline.
Ovissi expresses himself in a tree unleashed manner coupled with a peculiar daintiness which reveals that the poetic and mysterious concept are not imaginary and his thoughts can be translated into lines, colours and image in such a manner as if they spring from the essence of his innermost memories.
Ovissi has exhibited his works in many lands and has achieved successes both in Iran and abroad.
